The Ladies' 1s travelled up to Hartford to take on Winnington Park to keep up its march at the top of the table. The early exchanges were evens Stevens but the visitors broke the deadlock when a good ball in from Emma Wolfendale was smartly deflected in at the back post by Charlie Rutledge for the opening goal on 4 minutes. Triton pushed on from this opening and when Hannah Spears latched on to the ball in the right hand side of the D she rifled home for 2-0. The goal was to be the cue for the table toppers to unleash its expansive game on Winnigton. The third goal came on the 14th minute mark when another deflection saw Lucy Salter add the third at the right hand post. The postman does knock twice. However Triton's expansive game with committing player forward was its undoing, a swift counter and a defensive mix up saw a deflection wrong foot Emily Statham to pull a goal back for the hosts. This only served to spur Triton on, there was some great play with the play being regularly switched through midfield to the flanks where Charlie linked up on the left with Darcey Pawezowski and Lucy Williams whilst similarly Lucy S worked well with Tash Griffiths and Wolfendale on the other side. The 3 goal lead was restored on the 23rd minute as Wolfendale gave a strictly come dancing performance waltzing through the D. Wolfendale added the fifth on 24 minutes, a goal that brought up 100 goals for the team in 15 games then Charlie again hugging that back post (I love you back post) made it six just a minute later. Wolfendale completed a hat-rick in 5 minutes on 29 minutes for 7-1 and Spears completed the first half scoring on the stroke of half-time. In between all this Hannah Ford produced a maze run from inside her own half but chose to pass on the edge of the D with almost all Tritonians urging her to take a few more paces and shoot. Phew, time to draw breath and take a drink.

The second half started more sedately. But on 41 minutes Wolfendale again waltzed through the Winnington defence to slam home. The hosts mounted some concerted attacks on the Triton goal, won a couple penalty corners, one of which was deflected off the line by Griffiths. Lottie Wade showed that two could tango as she produced a lovely waltz of her own for the tenth. Skipper Vicki Bennion completed an excellent game from her by slamming home from a penalty corner before Wolfendale rounded off with her fifth of the game to complete that dirty dozen. A great result that keeps us ahead of Alderley Edge at the top of the table with 3 games to go. Great performance Ladies!
