Triton Mens 1s came away from Lymm with a point on Saturday after squandering the lead on three occasions. Triton took an early lead when Tom Chaddock picked up the ball at the top of the circle and whilst the shot was on target, it appeared to lack any pace to give the Lymm goalkeeper any difficulty. However, the Lymm goalkeeper made a complete hash of the save and the ball trickled over the line. Triton continued to look dangerous on the counter attack, but it was their opposition who got back into the game with a smart turn and finish from their centre forward. The scores weren't level for long as Dan Hancock broke away on Triton's right and found Tony Stevens in space on the left. Stevens calmly lifted over the goalkeeper on the reverse to make it 2-1 to Triton. Again, the lead was short lived, as a reverse stick effort was parried by JP Dodd in the Triton goal and unfortunately a Lymm player was on hand to poke home. Triton kept going however, and won a dubious penalty stroke minutes before half time. Chaddock stepped up and slotted home his seventh of the season to give a 3-2 half time lead to the men in orange. Triton didn't start too well in the second half and invited pressure from their opponents, which finally told mid-way through the half as Lymm equalised again. There were chances for Jack Newell, Tom Statham and Chaddock to secure the three points but none of them could convert which left them having to settle for a point. The Mens 1s host top of the table Neston on Saturday looking to end their pre-Christmas league programme on a high.
