Clash of the Titans! |

| 28/10/07 | Triton Warriors 1 - Triton Tigers 0Triton Hockey juniors started their season with the two teams pitched against each other. Danny Gibbs nicked Warriors first half goal much to the displeasure of his brother Steve, captaining the Tigers. The second half saw the Tigers apply intense pressure with five clear shots stopped on the line and many others spurned wide. For many of the players it was their first game outside the usual training sessions but all of them displayed great potential. Man of the Match was undecided as both teams worked their socks off and every single player should be proud of their efforts. The junior training sessions meet every Saturday on Alsager Leisure centre astro pitch 10 -11 am.**Want to contribute to the site??!?! Email your comments, match reports and pictures** |
| Ladies team hit top spot, and joint top for the Firsts | |
| 21/10/07 | Another great performance by the first team saw off Wrexham 2nd team as the First XI add another three points to the title campaign. Tom Chaddock and Andy Stubbs scored 2 each with a fantastic strike by Tim Millington totalling 5 for the home side. A valiant effort by the 2nd team at Neston was not reflected in the score line as they lost the game 6-3. No game for the Third XI this week but a steady draw for the Ladies at home against Bloxwich ensured that they took a point to go top as rivals Leek lost to Lichfield. | A slip to second for the 3rds... | |
| 15/10/07 | After Weathering some early home team pressure , a classic break away goal was scored by Spooner from his usual distance of 1 yard. Just before half time a well worked goal by south Cheshire took the score back level but things fell apart after the break as the home team scored a flurry of quick goals. Triton did not get the rub of the green on most of the goals as the first deflected and looped over keeper Pete Minshull, and the remaining were down to avoidable errors. The heads went down a bit, but the team rallied strongly in the last 20 and had the home sideon the rack when Paul "Goal Machine" Hassall scored one back. However a last minute shorty for South Cheshire gave the score a lopsided look. Check the Fixtures page for all sides next games and latest results. **Want to contribute to the site??!?! | Third XI Stay Top! | |
| 10/10/07 | The young third eleven continued their unbeaten start to the season and remain at the top of their division with a battling win over a solid Brooklands 7s team. The game started with Brooklands making the Triton defence work hard and justifiably took the lead, but Triton battled back with a well worked short corner routine. Paul Hassall scoring the equalizer just before the half time whistle. The second half started with sustained pressure from the visitors and they took the lead again in the middle of the half from open play. Triton worked an equalizer when Ash Taylor turned in a cross from the right wing, making up for an earlier miss right in front of an open goal. With about five minutes remaining Triton had a short corner and a shot from Roger Cooper was deflected in by a defender on the line. Brooklands pushed hard for an equalizer but Triton held on to their lead to take the 3 points. Honourable mentions to Rich Leech who played a fine defensive role with a broken bone in his ankle and Paul Hassall who had just got back from Toronto and was suffering from jetlag. **Want to contribute to the site??!?! | Triton go top with hard fought victory! | |
The 1sts went top of Division 5 South with a magnificent win against a physical Colwyn Bay side. Triton started poorly and went behind after 3 minutes due to some sloppy midfield play. The goal seemed to be just what Triton needed and the concentration levels and effort increased as Andy Stubbs, then Tom Chaddock gave Triton a 2-1 half time lead. The scoreline stayed the same until 9 minutes from time when a spell of pressure from Colwyn Bay led to them levelling the scores at 2-2. Triton weren't done though and Chaddock scored with 5minutes remaining from a well worked short corner routine. WIth victory for the Ladies and Third team, Triton now have three teams sitting at the top of the league. Along way to go but sure makes for good reading right now!! **Want to contribute to the site??!?! Email your comments, match reports and pictures** |
| First XI take 3 points | |
After a fiercly contested battle with the 2nd XI the firsts come awy 3 -0 victors, but not an easy win by any stretch of the imagination. Credit where credit is due, the second team fought to the bitter end and showed their resilliance for much of the game. In the end though the firsts proved just the stronger and when the passes finally got through the chances were taken. Also a great start for the ladies team thumping Tamworth 8- 0! And, in Sale the Third XI made a one all draw.
